Sandy Beach is a poet/photographer who has created collage for as long as she can remember. Her poetry is in conversation with visual art (in homage or opposition). Specific poetic lines can become the genesis for a collage. Other times an image sparks a poem. Her art connects with nature, contradiction, and memory. 

Recently, she has moved away from paper and glue to a totally digital process (photography and Photoshop). The elements used to create these images are gathered from her personal photo collection. Influenced by the early Surrealists, she works within Oulipo poetic constraints in both word and collage.

Sandy Beach’s Digital Collages are forthcoming in Icebreakers Lit, and have appeared in Voices (MSU), 1922 Review, Anti-Heroin Chic, and the anthology North Star Collage #2. She collaborates with artists and poets in various venues. She lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
