Sandy Beach is a poet/photographer who has created collage for as long as she can remember. Her poetry is in conversation with visual art (in homage or opposition). Specific poetic lines can become the genesis for a collage. Other times an image sparks a poem. Her art connects with nature, contradiction, and memory.

Recently, she has moved away from paper and glue to a totally digital process (photography and Photoshop). The elements used to create these images are gathered from her personal photo collection. Influenced by the early Surrealists, she works within Oulipo poetic constraints in both word and collage.

Sandy Beach’s Digital Collages are forthcoming in Voices (MSU) and appeared in 1922 Review, Anti-Heroin Chic in 2026, and North Star Collage #2 in June, 2022. She was the Featured Artist at Oakdale Discovery Center in 2018. She curated and was featured in “Three Poets Make Art” Fridley Branch Library Show 2016. She lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
