Harry Bayley

“Ouroboros is an extrapolation of ideas around our relationship to digital environments and the impact of the ever-increasing digital(ness) of our lives. Building on the academic work around Post Cinema and Post Cinematic Affect by Denson and Leyda, Ouroboros embraces particularly Shaviros’ musings around Deleuze, post cinema and horror, rendering visible what is impalpable. Ouroboros then becomes the virtual demonic intrusion, trying to actualise itself” – Harry Bayley

Harry Bayley is an artist, writer and film programmer from the UK. Within his practice, he has become more interested in how immaterial virtual worlds engage with a similar immateriality to that of rituals and supernatural beliefs, how our relationship with technology is similar to that of worship, of god. Oscillating between abstract, documentary and machinima style visuals, he wishes to use the immaterial as a pathway to connecting disparate worlds and histories, creating tactile materialities and making a stand against the digitisation of experience.
